Timberlake nominated as NDP candidate for Prince George-Peace River

Alan Timberlake a 36 year old Prince George Alcohol and Drug Counsellor was nominated Saturday in Mackenzie to run for the NDP in Prince George Peace River. He pledged on taxation daycare gender equality job security and a secure future while criticizing free trade and US linkages for harming Canadian jobs and industries.

Chetwynd Improvement Project Advances Under Mayor Lasser

After tentative meetings the Chetwynd Improvement Project moved forward with Mayor Charles Lasser chairing a July 13 1988 meeting at the Recreation Centre. Planning consultant D F H Hollmann from Dawson Creek B C was introduced.

Director Don Marshall named executive director of Project '92

Don Marshall, former South Peace MLA and Dawson Creek businessman, is named executive director of Project '92 Society guiding celebrations for the 50th Alaska Highway anniversary. The umbrella group includes Peace River and Fort Nelson Liard districts, eight municipalities, and the Peace River Alaska Highway Tourist Association. Hollmann credits include Grande Prairie projects and urban planning for Dawson Creek and Hudson's Hope. he urges a stronger downtown core for Chetwynd to attract tourists, including a vertical entrance, tree-lined highways, and an RV park near the highway.
