Paddlers impressed by smooth Peace River run and river awareness
First time Peace paddlers completed the river in an hour as the high water made for fast yet safe conditions. Yeoman credited better organization for fewer paddlers than expected and noted it as a good intro to canoeing on the Peace River. Willson hopes national attention from AFN leaders will bolster Site C concerns and river value. The Paddle for the Peace, now in its third year, was started by the Peace Valley Environmental Association and West Moberly First Nations to raise awareness and invite residents to enjoy the river.
