Hydro line to double capacity in South Peace region
BC Hydro plans a 250 million dollar transmission line 19 kilometres east of Chetwynd near Highway 97 to double the region electricity capacity amid rising gas industry demand. If approved construction could start in 2012 with 230 kilovolts ready by October 2013 creating jobs and enabling new industrial interconnections.
