Grad ceremony theme at CESS marks life and beginnings
The 1982 Chetwynd Elementary Secondary School graduating class used Our Life Our Beginning as its theme. Graduates entered to Sailing by Chris Cross, with hundreds of attendees filling the gym by 8:00. Principal Ian Campbell introduced the grads as Patti Armstrong delivered Oh Canada with piano and flute accompaniments, ending with God Save The Queen. Vice Principal Mr. McDowell led the closing remarks.

Chetwynd Airport gets 150000 grant for beacons
Don Phillips presented Chetwynd Mayor Charlie Lasser with a 150000 cheque from the Provincial Ministry of Transportation and Highways to install five beacons at Chetwynd Airport.
