Chetwynd resident Tyler Haugen will appear in Chetwynd Provincial Court on three counts of causing injury following a May 6 2006 crash on Highway 97. The 1994 BMW he drove lost control, went down an embankment, struck a power pole, and left six youths aged 16 to 19 injured including one paralyzed. Authorities say excessive speed and inexperience while carrying multiple passengers contributed, and that seat belt use was lacking.
