L.P. postpones start up due to price drop and inventories
L.P. announces a postponement of its January 25 1993 start up because pulp prices have fallen and inventories are high. About 90 workers will be laid off by January 24 except essential staff. Medical and dental coverage continues during layoff. A February 15 review will decide recall. Major shutdown for effluent plant upgrades remains planned for mid April.
