Chinook Daze Kickoff With Outhouse Race And Contests
Chinook Daze runs February 18 to 26 with events including a Parade on February 25, a Donut Eating Contest, Cake Walk, Toothpick Construction Contest, and the 3rd Annual Outhouse Race now called the Triple O Race. BC Hydro hosts Customer Appreciation Day February 18 with coffee, goodies, door prizes, and a bucket truck ride. The Fire Department sponsors the outhouse event with six carriers and one rider per team, entries via the department, age groups 6 9 10 12 and 13 plus, with prizes and expanded fiddlers contest and dance at Elks Hall February 25.

Transportation planning committee holds first meeting in Dawson Creek
