Western Coal opens open houses for Wolverine Burnt River projects
Western Canadian Coal held open houses in Tumbler Ridge and Chetwynd to update the public on the Wolverine and Burnt River projects. About 160 attended in Tumbler Ridge versus 35 in Chetwynd as officials stressed environmental soundness and job creation while outlining plans to start production late 2003 or early 2004 with 250 to 300 jobs and 1.5 to 2 million tonnes annually.
