Alberta to gain three MRI units boosting northern access
Three new MRI units funded by Alberta lottery grants will slash long wait times and bring scans closer to Peace River area residents. Lethbridge Red Deer and Grande Prairie hospitals receive 1 million each, reducing a 500 kilometer Edmonton trip for Dawson Creek patients. The Queen Elizabeth II Hospital Foundation seeks 4 million total with 60 thousand left, plans 1.5 million equipment cost and 0.5 million for renovations plus 1 million for first-year operations.
