Chetwynd Leads Province in 2011 Assessment Increases
More than 3,000 property owners in and around Chetwynd received 2011 assessment notices showing the highest increases in the province. Deputy Assessor Scott Sitter notes most South Peace homes rise 3 to 8 percent, but Chetwynd jumps 15 to 25 percent with residential up about 19 percent and business up 12 percent. Mayor Evan Langstad calls these increases among the province’s highest, second only to Mackenzie in residential.
