Burn victim unable to be flown out due to weather
Garth Joyce survived a December 27 explosion while working on a snow machine in Chetwynd and suffered severe burns. He was moved by ground to Fort St. John and flown to Edmonton, but weather and aviation rules prevented air ambulance service from Chetwynd. BC Ambulance officials cited lack of terminal forecast and nighttime weather data as factors, with Fort St. John the only viable regional option.

Chetwynd Welcomes Its First Baby Of 2007 Sophie Foren
Sophia Marie Foren was born January 1 at the Dawson Creek Hospital to Gabriella Jacques and Chase Foren. She weighed nine pounds eight ounces and measured 53 centimetres. Both parents and baby are doing well. The family chose a larger centre for delivery due to the Chetwynd hospital’s lack of epidurals or cesarean options.
