Home based business by law draw concerns in Chetwynd

Foothills T-shirt and Variety Store owner Marge Rose criticized the Home occupational by-law at a District of Chetwynd meeting. She argued the wording is loose and discriminatory, urging that home businesses move into the downtown core within three to six months or have licenses revoked. Rose questioned exemptions for hairdressers, real estate, stables, and kennels, and warned the downtown tax base and revitalization depend on attracting new businesses. She noted tourism and investor concerns if home businesses remain, and emphasized timely downtown placement to fund community projects.
