Campagnola to tour Peace River area visit
The Hon Iona Campagnola will visit the Peace River area arriving Fort St. John January 28. After a press conference she travels to Dawson Creek and on Saturday evening will meet speed skaters at a buffet dinner before delivering a major address. The Fort Nelson Peace River Liberal Association holds its annual constituency meeting January 29 at 9 30 am with an address by the Minister and election of officers.

Civic Night expects Oberle guest speaker in Chetwynd

December 1977 carloadings totalled 9,688, beating the 1976 December figure and marking the railway’s highest 64 year total at 152,049. The prior peak was 126,821 in 1973, with 119,480 in 1976. Annual skatathon fundraiser planned by Little Giant club
The Little Giant Figure Skating Club schedules its annual Skatathon for January 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Eight skaters will perform seven minute laps with sponsors by pledge sheets or per lap, earning up to five dollars per sponsor. Supporters can volunteer, pick up pledge sheets at MacLeod’s or from Anne Teslyk or Lexie Teeple, and awards will be given March 18 to 19.
