Canada proposes UIA amendments for expanded benefits
Government of Canada presents amendments to the Unemployment Insurance Act to improve the regime and fund job training programs. Bill C-21 passed the House but awaits Senate approval with an interim rule: from January 7, 1990, new regular US benefit claims require 14 weeks of work in the prior year.
