Record turnout for Civic Night marks strong community spirit
Chetwynd residents again showed resolve at Civic Night with a record turnout. Organizers Helene Weightman and Tonia Richter, volunteers, and musical acts earned praise for handling a faulty sound system. Kristin Stevens named 2009 Junior Citizen of the Year, Paul Paquette and Sons Contracting Ltd won Business of the Year, Keith Massey earned Century Citizen, and Lou and Sharon Suverus were named Citizen of the Year for donating eight acres for a new assisted living complex.
