Free firearm registration windows narrow in western provinces
In Alberta and British Columbia licensed firearm owners have a few weeks to register without charge using the mailed personalized form. The fee waiver, ending March 19, aims to complete registrations by January 1, 2003. An Internet option is also available at the federal site.

RCMP seek witnesses to dangerous driving incident
Dawson Creek RCMP are seeking witnesses to a dangerous driving incident on February 12 at about 6 55 p m. A silver Ford pickup speeding east on 108th Avenue was stopped near 15th Street. Investigators urge two pedestrians in reflective armbands and drivers of three waiting vehicles at 108th and 15th to come forward. The suspect fled after a confrontation with officers, was later apprehended, and faces multiple charges including dangerous driving obstruction and weapons and narcotics offences. investigators seek info from witnesses.
