Tender split over Chetwynd VIC bid narrowed to $6,000
District of Chetwynd and the Chamber of Commerce submitted bids to run the Visitor Information Centre with the district quoting 88 263 for 2015 and the chamber 94 000. Council cut the VIC to seasonal operation May through October with a manager and three summer students and two winter months. The district claims savings while Chamber officials lament the outcome and note the bid gap.
