Third party to review BC teachers strike action
Provincial Education Minister George Abbott named Trevor Hughes to assess if a negotiated settlement between the 42 000 member BC Teachers' Federation and BC Public School Employers' Association is possible. Hughes will report by Feb 23, urging parties to continue talks amid calls for back to work legislation if needed.
