Environment Minister John Baird and Natural Resources Minister Gary Lunn introduced the ecoEnergy Initiative in late January. The plan comprises three parts ecoEnergy Renewable, ecoEnergy Efficiency, and ecoEnergy Technology with funding aimed at renewable power incentives, heat, and home energy retrofits. It includes a one cent per kilowatt hour production incentive for renewables and a 220 million retrofit program to boost energy conservation across homes and small businesses.
