Chetwynd woman faces April fraud sentence over $30k thefts

Llewellyn, previously accused of defrauding Peace Christian School of over $40,000, admitted to theft from the CWRS in 2011. Investigators allege she pocketed cash, altered pay cheques, and raised kiosk rents without board knowledge. RCMP report she fled with books and laptop. Sentencing set for April. fraud over $5,000 carries up to 10 years.

Chetwynd Council Sees Resignation and Voting Dates

Advanced voting is set for April 3 and 10 with general voting on a Saturday within 80 days after the new chief elections officer assumes duty. Voting hours run 8 A.M. to 8 P.M. at the District Office. Councillor Harris resigns due to work in Alberta, saying he cannot attend many meetings but will remain a resident and hometown supporter of Chetwynd.
