Eighth Baby Welcoming Event Celebrates Newborns and Music
The eighth Baby Welcoming event in the community celebrated a 2007 baby girl born to Napoleon and his wife though they could not attend in person. Shalayne Cameron sang a cappella with the Saulteau band, and sixteen year old Cameron hoped to audition for Canadian Idol in Vancouver. Gift bags with toys, outfits, roses, socks, Dragon Palace vouchers, sham poo, diapers, and a rocking horse prize were handed out amid a festive afternoon of food and family. Organizers Garbitt and others praised the gathering as a positive way to unite families and honor new arrivals.
