Fraser Institute report cards Aboriginal education in BC
The Fraser Institute released the first Report Card on Aboriginal Education in British Columbia, presenting results from 38 elementary and 49 secondary schools. It shows severe underperformance by Aboriginal students, with high failure rates in reading across several grades and far lower post secondary preparation compared with non Aboriginal peers. The report urges school accountability and parental school choice, arguing some schools have improved and calling for accessible school by school data and action to improve outcomes.
