STARS has delivered rapid air ambulance support since 1985, aiding rural incidents including a severely injured coal miner, a farmer trapped in harvest equipment, and a mother with postpartum hemorrhage in a small rural hospital. In January a STARS info session noted ground delays and the advantage of helicopter care.
