Fort St John council backs regional policing and fair share push
Fort St John and nearby districts push to index the $12 million Fair Share grant to reflect industrial growth and implement a northeast regional policing model by 2007. The plan would allow Fort St John officers to respond to Taylor crimes with streamlined authority while smaller communities pay earlier if funding arrives. A provincial meeting is planned early next year to advance resolutions.
