Westcoast Energy aids locals as tests deem Chetwynd site clean
Westcoast Energy donates to the Chetwynd Food Bank and local charities instead of sending Christmas cards. An independent study found no serious groundwater contamination at the BC Hydro lot on 50th Street and 47th Avenue. Groundwater moves slowly due to clay. nearby wells and creeks pose no immediate risk. A small soil patch showed Light Extractable Petroleum Hydrocarbon below CSR standards, with no plan to excavate unless redevelopment occurs.
