The Chetwynd Public Library expands its role beyond books with the Books n Bytes café opened May 20. Chetwynd council backs youth drivers and late meetings
The December 2008 council session focused on admin issues and local projects. A Talisman Energy test well near Highway 29 was proposed for Montney shale gas. Councillors discussed safety concerns about brine waste, thanked staff for holiday events, and approved advancing a bridge project over Windrow Creek. They decried driver test wait times, noting May 6 2009 in Chetwynd versus January tests in Hudsons Hope, Fort St John, and Dawson Creek, and moved February meetings to 7 pm to boost public attendance.
