Province Helps Solve Peace River Regional District Tax
The provincial government and local industries will contribute 4 million dollars a year to fund new and expanded infrastructure in Peace River communities. Municipal Affairs Minister Darlene Marzari announced the plan, with an industrial tax levy on 2000 properties and matching grants to raise a minimum of 4 million annually. The agreement includes studies on taxation and service delivery, a boundary restructure study for Chetwynd funded at 33 thousand dollars, and a regional district study funded at 30 thousand.
