Gun control bill not tied to unsigned circular, MP says

Lawrence Lang, executive assistant to Liberal MP Warren Allmand, debunks an unsigned document circulating in Kelowna and other regions claiming to describe private member's Bill C 451. He asserts the bill licenses owners rather than guns and contains no provisions to change firearms status, dismissing the circular as garbage. The notice also mentions firearms, a claim Lang says is unfounded.

Power users face increases at BC Hydro Site C hearing

BC Hydro economist Donald Priestman told a Utilities Commission hearing on the Site C Dam that electricity prices will rise faster than inflation over the next 11 years, with natural gas costs rising even faster. He projected long term inflation at 9.4 percent in BC and 9.1 percent nationally, noting increases will not be as rapid as gas but still substantial. The commission continues hearings as data is presented and no tax shifts are assumed in the outlook.
