Hudson's Hope Council votes against tenure sales
Hudson's Hope council opposed four tenure sales for oil and gas development at a Nov 14 meeting. Mayor Lenore Harwood urged no further tenures until a local resource policy is in place, with buffer zones to limit future tenure deals. The council aims for sustainable planning and grant funding, while a regional district meeting with the Ministry of Energy and Mines was postponed to January. The town also urged residents not to feed deer and other wildlife.
