Canfor to close Chetwynd sawmill in BC affecting 188 jobs
Canfor Corp. plans to shutter its Chetwynd mill on BC's West Coast due to weak lumber markets and a strong Canadian dollar. The 244 million board foot capacity mill will close after log supplies are exhausted, likely by late January or early February, with 188 workers affected.
