Chetwynd Ballfield Development Committee Meeting Update
The August 11 1988 meeting at the Chetwynd Recreation Centre outlined past present and future ballfield plans. Funding of 5200 from a Pine Valley Grant plus 1800 raised by the committee were noted along with committee roles and an open house September 10 11. A fundraising ball tournament is planned for September 17 with coordinators named and next meeting set for August 25 at 7:00 p.m.

Public Conservation Fund Grants Support 32 Projects
Environment Minister Bruce Strachan announced 72 133 in grants for 32 wildlife and fisheries projects through the Public Conservation Assistance Fund. Twenty two projects receive 49 439 from the Fund and ten receive 22 994 from Wildlife Habitat Canada. Entusiasm for these projects runs very high and recipients are committing to match grants with labour or materials or additional funds.

ARSDA assists BC grain producers purchase dryers
DAWSON CREEK B C grain producers will receive up to one third funding to a maximum of $3,500 each under the federal provincial program. The 32 local projects include birds as the main focus with nest boxes checklists and platforms for ducks owls Canada geese and chuka. The program aims to conserve and enhance the province's fish and wildlife with volunteers donating time and effort.

Allan Timerlake, New Democrat candidate for Peace River Prince George, visits Echo office in Chetwynd on Wednesday August 17. Timberlake, a Prince George resident and provincial government worker, has politics since 1975 and a Simon Fraser University degree. His aim is to voice residents wishes in Ottawa.
