BC Hydro warns: pruning near lines dangerous in Chetwynd area
Alan Horn reports BC Hydro has spent half a million dollars in the Chetwynd and Dawson Creek region to curb risky trimming near 2500 to 1200 volt lines. Wayne Martell notes WCB rules require ten foot distances, while private trimming near lines often leads to electrical shock incidents. Senior VP Ron Threlkeld stresses pruning near high voltage lines is extremely hazardous and should not be done by the public.
