Funeral services were held Friday July 24 1981 for Leona Angelic Redhead of Chetwynd who died July 19 1981 at age 27. Rev Barry Breker officiated at the Chetwynd Legion Hall. Interment at Tuscola Mountain Cemetery. Survivors include husband to be Dean Manning daughter Jo Ann two sons Billie Joe and Leon Dean parents Victoria and Simon brothers Wayne Russell Doug Bruce Lance sisters Darlene Geraldine Leatha Ruby in Chetwynd plus in laws and many relatives.

Campfire Ban Lifted In Peace River Area
Cooler weather and scattered rainfall led to the removal of the campfire ban in the Peace River Area. The ban had been in place since July due to high fire hazard. 2,600 hectares burned in the Prince George forest region with 246 fires to date and firefighting costs at 1.3 million dollars, 75 percent of fires occurring in July.

Moberly Lake District golf course opens near Chetwynd
A new eighteen hole par 70 golf course rises at Moberly Lake overlooking the lake and mountains north of Chetwynd. Construction funds aim for 1982 opening with nine fairways seeded by mid August. The project, designed by B Robinson, is backed by community grants and donations totaling near 300 000 toward a 420 000 budget.
