Province Reaps 19.3 Million From Oil and Gas Rights Sale

The July oil and gas rights sale in northeastern British Columbia brought 19.3 million in revenue, triple the prior year, with 26 drilling licences and 16 leases covering 49,688 hectares. Energy Minister Dan Miller notes reduced royalties for heavy oil and a 110 million Hay field project by Canadian Oxy, while next sale in August will offer 78 drilling licences and seven leases.

Moberly Lake Fire Dept Earns Accreditation

The Moberly Lake Volunteer Fire Department reports accreditation by the Insurance Underwriters Association of B C. The designation may lower insurance premiums for residents within five miles of the hall as brokers will be notified by the Underwriter Office of Canada.

Seniors housing given top priority by Women’s Resource Society
