Chetwynd Opens Public Leisure Pool After Dream Realized
On May 7 the Chetwynd and District Leisure Pool opens to the public with an official ceremony on May 19. The project began after a 1986 meeting led by Jean Hicks, gaining strong support from District and Regional councils and voters. Since 1989 construction funded by Go BC grants and local fundraising has raised $140,000, with $85,000 still needed. The note urges residents to buy bricks, donate through tax refunds, and support ongoing fundraising for equipment and operations.
