Family Fest profile: the Winland family history
The Winland family has attended Family Fest for eight years. Monique, Dave, Jessica, Nathan, Debra, Gracie, and Joshua describe a day full of fun activities for kids before school ends. They value community togetherness and recall Gracie’s 2000 Diaper Derby moment, where she crawled near the line, paused, and wandered to visit others despite not winning.

Chetwynd explores supportive living facility plan
On March 31 the Chetwynd Health Services Committee met with NHA leaders to discuss locating a supportive living facility in Chetwynd. The plan targets five to ten units with room for growth up to twelve in the South Peace area. The North East Region will issue a private sector RFP in late April for construction or conversion, with a three stage process guiding private then non profit bidders and BC Housing Authority funding for conversions and rent subsidies. Evan Saugstad, Mayor, urged local interest and offered a contact for more information.
