Chetwynd CN Rail under probe after burning sulphur cars arrive
Two CN Rail sulfur laden rail cars coasted into Chetwynd before 6 am Monday April 2. The district and fire department seek a CN official meeting to establish protocol, criticizing CN for lacking procedures during the incident. Councillor Ernest Pfanner questions CN policy on dangerous goods near communities. A Montreal CN dispatcher directed the cars to Chetwynd yard, stopping within 500 metres of a populated area.
