March 1992 oil and gas rights sale in northeastern BC
The March sale raised 2.6 million for the province with 48 parcels bid on. Canadian Hunter Exploration Ltd. bought one 9,375 hectare permit for 524,818 and two drilling licences at 154 per hectare. Suncor Phillips BC Star and Petro-Canada led a 71 hectare lease at 490 per hectare for 34,787, with Atcor and Ulster paying 88,253 for a 50 km north Fort St. John lease. A 284 hectare deep rights lease in the Rigel gas field sold for 311 per hectare. Next sale set for April 22, 1992.
