Family Fest 1996 Highlights and 1997 Mosaic Finish
The 1996 event featured Earth Wind and Water Play with Jim Raddysh on stage and a Canadian Red Cross cake for centennial celebration. David Tocher performed for the fourth year, Leanne Robertson organized Giant Bubbles, the Graffiti Car drew crowds, and new T shirts were designed by Anita Van Holderbeke and Adrianna Holden. In 1997 Ms Telford's Class at Dokie finished the year’s community mosaic, the Dokie Dragon welcomed visitors, Travis Fontaine gave a BMX demo, a pet parade and karate show complemented kite making for upcoming summer days.

Snowmobile and avalanche conditions across Mackenzie and backcountry
Reports show EXCELLENT backcountry snow overall with high to extreme avalanche conditions in several areas including Tumbler Ridge and the Fort St. John region. Hasler, Silver Sands and Mt Spieker offer fresh snow and good sledding while some routes are rough or unsafe due to overflow. April events include Core Lodge mountain riding and the Mackenzie Poker Rally.
