Erection of Houses Could Be Done by Unskilled Labor

The plan proposes constructing 60,000 houses with unskilled labor under a skilled foreman. Each four workers could assemble one pair of houses weekly, with two houses weighing 25 tons. To reach 60,000 houses, 1,250,000 tons of iron would be needed, potentially reactivating idle blast furnaces and providing full employment for foundries.

James W. Compton son of Henry Compton and Matilda Jane Fowler was born July 11 1855 in St John New Brunswick and baptized October 28 1855 at Belle Creek P B Island by Rev Donald MacDonald. He died July 16 1924 in Charlottetown after a prolonged illness.

Passing of a longtime resident with church and lodge support

The obituary notes the death of a resident married to Jane Nicholson of Peters Road P2 1, survived by son Alex Seymour of Truro N.S. and a sister in Well's Mills. Deceased, a carpenter, weakened with age, died peacefully in faith. Funeral at the Methodist Church in Monctau with Rev. Ewen MacDougall officiating. St Andrew's Lodge Masons conducted the rites.

Mrs James Sanphy Rites Held After Baldwin’s Road Death

Mrs James Sanphy of Baldwin's Road died August 25 1924 at age sixty after paralysis left her speechless. A Requiem Mass was held at St Cuthbert's Church with Rev I R A MacDonald officiating. She left a grieving husband two brothers and one sister and eight children including Anna Lynn Jennie Irene Patrick Cyrus Joseph and Eddie.
