A party of six returning from a Muskegon wedding aboard a launch was forced into the water as the boat burst into flames after a gasoline tank exploded. Three bodies have been recovered badly burned. others escaped to shore with severe injuries. The Coulson family members are reported among the dead or missing.
Brockville reports the Cheese Board finished its 1909 meetings. Total cheese offerings numbered 1062 boxes, including 537 colored sand and the rest white. Bids opened at 10c with salesmen noting limited demand and some refusals as buyers called at 10c. A sale price at 10% to 1 was recorded for oats.
