First Convention Of Fisheries Is To Be Held In City

ANTIGONISH May 20 The first annual convention of the United Maritime Fishermen will be held in Halifax on June 25 and 26 with delegates from Nova Scotia Prince Edward Island New Brunswick and other Maritime districts. Dr M M Coady who organized fishermen since last September will attend and a central board will run the association. W A Found Deputy Minister of Marine and Fisheries will represent the department.

Death of David Compton in Charlottetown

David Compton died in his sleep at Birchwood street Charlottetown Prince Edward Island on May 10 1930. He left a wife a daughter of the late Malcolm Lamont of Dundee Queens County five young children his father Henry Compton and sister Mrs Eddie Moser of Wood Islands. The family mourns his loss in their home.
