Island Preacher of Note at Grace Church on Sunday

Rev. Fred. M. Clay, a Dundas native, preached both morning and evening at Grace Church. Described as a forceful speaker likened to Billy Sunday, he also sang well. He shared stories of a global sailing career and twenty years of evangelistic work mainly in the United States, plans to spend his remaining years in the province, and left for Digby to begin tent revival meetings. He is accompanied by his wife, formerly Miss Brian of Victoria.

ISLANDER DEAD AND ISLANDER HEROES RETURN

He was formerly from Charlottetown and leaves a wife, three sons Archie Howard and Colin, and five daughters in Arlington and Maine. Treasure Quest Ends In Frustration At Cable Head

A group from a nearby lobster factory at Cable Head hunted a legendary treasure on Garbert Sanderson's peninsula. Lacking a guide, they wandered overnight with a mineral rod and failed to locate the buried wealth amid beliefs about luck and buried French treasures diminishing since the expedition. Separately, the Devonshire Red Cross Society met June 20 at Rice Point with seventeen members. they applauded secretary Miss Elizabeth Compton and presented her a valise and hand mirror as she prepares to depart. The minutes were read, and the gathering closed with Auld Lang Syne and the National Anthem.
