Special to The Guardian. Montreal January 15. William Holland age 49 once manager of a Montreal clearing house and for two years manager of MacDougall Bros stock brokers was shot through the heart and died minutes later in the Gordon Strathy Co stock brokerage office. The shooting occurred about 3.35 am yesterday in a conflict reportedly involving Major R Ell a figure known in social and financial circles. Dr G K Holland brother of the deceased and Dr J J Holland brother in law entered the headquarters shortly after the event as the victim groaned and staggered.
