Strong Testimony in Ferguson Case Across Amherst Trial

Bathurst Man Killed by I. C. R. Train
Martin Kelly of Bathurst was instantly killed near Campbellton while walking along the tracks after dark. The I. C. R. train’s headlight shone, but he did not move off the rail and was struck as the locomotive approached. The accident occurred Monday night, and rescue was not possible once sighted.

Special to The Guardian. In a brutal Boston case Jas. Taylor, a burley man, is held for maltreatment of his white wife formerly Margar et Jackson of Amherst. Police raided a Middlesex Street house. Taylor tried to shoot Sergeant Hurley, then was overpowered. The wife, chained to a wall and kept naked in a cold room for eight days, endured repeated beatings with a stove poker and boot. She alleges chaining began after she refused to sell cocaing Taylor trafficked to youths. Mrs. Taylor’s origins are listed as P. B. Island with parents in West Amherst.
