Booster for Canada recalls wartime service on Doric
Mr Robert Robinson, who came to Canada about thirty years ago, shared his full endorsement of Canada as a home for settlers. He enlisted with an Edmonton battalion in 1914, served in France, was shell shocked, and visited by King George V and Queen Mary while in hospital. He returned to Edmonton, where his sons work in ranching and academia, and his daughter teaches. He travels home aboard the Doric heading to Edmonton.

In Memoriam John Ferry Passes Away in Bangor
The death occurred at his home at 73 2nd Street Bangor Me Thursday evening. John Ferry aged twenty, nephew of Mrs Praught King Street Bangor, had spent vacations here for years and was well liked. He underwent several futile operations. He joined the League of the Cross Boy Scouts to their camp here.

James McDonald Pioneer of Hopefield Dies at 85
Mr James McDonald of Hopefield died April 7 1928 after a long illness. Born September 1842 in Pinette P E I he helped settle Hopefield and farmed there. He was a leading local figure active in public affairs and a devout church member. He leaves two sons James H River Phillip NS and John A Hopefield and four daughters Grace Murray River Mary E Avonmore Ont and Mrs Ira D Munn Hopefield with several siblings and a large funeral at Little Sands Church and burial beside his wife.
