Offer refused for Belanger Pladner bout in Paris

April 8 Toronto reports Albert Frenchy Belanger the Canadian flyweight champion rejected an offer to fight Emile Pladner the European champion in Paris on June 1. Belanger's manager Dave Garrity declined and Playfair Brown the club matchmaker said he would pay Pladner $20,000 more to come here and fight Belanger.

Rebels Retreat Reported Near Jimenes in Mexico

Reports from the front near Jimenes say rebels are in full retreat by train truck and on horseback toward Santa Rosalia halfway between Jimenez and Bachimbs Pas Brudenell. The February meeting of the W I was hosted by Mrs Fred Robertson with Institute members backing the Sanitarium plan and a district wide resolution being circulated. Plans for a concert are under discussion.

Canadian Boxer Ramon as Cambridge Champion and Boxer King

Ramon as a University of Toronto graduate joined Cambridge boxing, earning a Half Blue after defeating the Royal Air Force and Varsity on March 8. He is the only Canadian to earn a place on the Cambridge boxing team and held interfaculty titles in 1926 7 and 1927 28 with a 1934 post graduate study ongoing. League of the Cross tops Charlottetown Alleys in city match

In the Charlottetown city bowling championship fifth game League of the Cross beat Charlotte town Alleys by a small margin. C Dillon led with a 288 single and 671 series while Ed McMillan and Dillon posted strong totals for the League.
