Warning to Charleville builders over by laws breaches
In Charleville police court on Tuesday morning, Mr C. Re Nayes urged action when bylaws are not followed. The case centered on Herbert Edward Steele who began erecting a veranda and other work on his residence before plans were approved. Town Clerk Macklin recalled, witnesses testified to early construction and inspections, and the court urged the council to enforce bylaws to deter similar pre approval work. The magistrate warned penalties must be heavy enough to deter defiance and noted the council should ensure obligations are clear to the public.
