Fatal Stage Accident Near Camp McKinney

Information reached here Thursday that a mail stage running from Camp McKinney to Greenwood plunged into Jelly Creek four miles from McKinney. Driver Andrew Kirkland was instantly killed with a broken neck. Henry Nicholson Jr and Mrs Brwers of Camp McKinney were injured. Henry Black of Portage la Prairie escaped injury. The four horse team lost control on a steep grade above the creek, missing the bridge as wagon and horses fell into the water. Kirkland's body and the injured were brought back to McKinney.
