In St Petersburg today seven Russian victories over German Austrian forces are announced. Russian troops captured numerous prisoners and seized large quantities of war munitions, while an Austrian town was destroyed.
A runaway wagon in a Doukhobor village eight miles northwest of Kamsack killed a 10 year old boy and an 8 year old girl who were thrown from the wagon as their horses bolted. Eight other passengers were injured, with one hospitalized. Dr Sorenson examined the scene and noted the horses frightened by a binder behind.
A Canadian businessman staying at a Van Nuys hotel told Pacific News Bureau that Canada faces less distress and more prosperity than many nations. Rumors of a naval engagement north of Harwich arise, while Vienna reports of Austrian plans and Japan’s involvement circulate.

Fire Water and Light reports propose Keebler paid 150 dollars monthly through April 1 1915 and to oversee the full plant. Uniforms for town policeman authorized up to 30 dollars. Three loaded cattle and hogs were shipped Saturday August 8. Mrs Ferguson visited Canora. Jack’s magic wand revived harvest readiness. a party hosted by Mrs Ferguson occurred August 14. A library association dance drew attendees to the lake area last week.
A steamship for hospital service has been offered by the C P BK Co. P BK shops in Winnipeg resume full hours. The Pope must stay in bed as audiences are refused. Germans in the United States encounter continuing tension. Ocean vessels cross the Atlantic to the Pacific. Nine steamships departed New York on Saturday to ports in England France Italy and Holland. The map of Europe is expected to be recast after the war.
